CLICK for article! Canadian artist Qing Han, also known as Qinni, was a beloved and very influential figure in the online art scene. Her gorgeous art often with themes of galaxies, water, and fish often went viral and gave her countless fans & friends over the years. She achieved her dream of becoming a processional artist, working as the background painter for the animation studio Titmouse. Qinni was known for her positivity, friendliness and warmth, and many considered her a teacher and an inspiration. She was very open about her ongoing health issues and often included medical themes in her work. She was incredibly resilient and strong, and had conquered open heart surgery 4 times in her life. After her passing, artists have been paying tribute to Qinni from all around the world. Many of these tributes have been drawn from Qinni's most famous pieces: a blue and purple girl with stars on her face. The reason I chose to focus on this article was because I was touched by all Qinni's story. She had to overcome so much pain in her life, and she did so with positivity and humor. She expressed her pain through her art and made so many beautiful pieces. Recently, an instagram company under the name, Melon4note, has come under fire for using Qinni's art after her passing for their own benefit. They claim that Qinni gave them permission, but under inspection of the "permission" screenshot, it's obvious Qinni did not. What do you think about Qinni's art & story? I feel so bad for Qinni to be so young and have to struggle through her illness. But I felt so inspired by her as well, to be able to create while in a state like that would be so difficult. Not to mention, her positivity in her diagnosis, and how she was able to cope was truly admirable.
RIP Qinni
